Hi! I recently subscribed to the app and went for the PPL #2. I come from a “Meadows”-style background and I am used to way more volume. Anyone else from a similar background that has changed to lower volumes and gotten better results? Kind of a mindfu*k to do less – but quality over quantity I guess

I did high volume mi40 style for 10 years and switched to lower volume. Honestly for me, same results but less time in the gym and I don’t feel quite as run down.

PPL # 2 is 6x a week that should definitely provide enough volume. You could also had another set or pump work at the end. I’m doing the anti flamingo since can only reasonably get to the gym 4x a week

Was coming in here to ask the same question. I train 6x a week and just started up the power building split and it’s 5x a week. Just going to add a cardio/yoga day in and call it good. I’m curious to see what results come out of it

I’ve done both. John had a great methodology in program design and I enjoyed it, but the lower volume approach has been so much better for me. Easier to log book and go balls out on every set. I’ve had significantly more growth from the HC method.

Before all that I was doing even higher volume from Fitness Culture and Kris Gethin. I got nowhere with it.

OP here: Appreciate you guys taking time. I know Terrence made the same switch actually. I’ve decided to give it a shot. This PPL 2 is much “simpler” than what I am used to, but I imagine it could be a nice change of pace. Definitely easier to log book yes

Really appreciate you taking time Joe. As I am a new user of the app, I haven’t gotten to check out most of the videos yet. Will watch them asap.

I’m actually an outlier and do much better with volume. I’m actually following some of Jay Cutlers approach but occasionally I will flip back to a lower volume program here to keep things fresh.
