Just a quick question On warm up sets, and yes I have watched most videos in the guidance section but I am finding myself doing 2-3 warm up sets on every single exercise I’m doing (currently doing the half body program 2.0 with an added arm day on the 5th day) and on the first exercise on each training day in doing around 4-5 warm up sets.
I don’t know if I’m doing to much or approaching each working set wrong!
The sets are 3 working sets on most exercises, (currently on week 7) and I’m finding I’ll do a working set after my warm up sets for set 1, then I’ll lift heavier on the 2nd and then 3rd even heavier. (Only a few drop sets on certain exercises on the program) but I know Joe likes the approach of top set first and back off sets afterwards.
I see the program is set as it is, and I’ll finish this program until week 12, I just am getting a bit frustrated with how many warm up sets I should be doing, and for every exercise given.
Thanks Bryce so when you mention body temperature like today the gym has no air con on and it’s roasting out side, when you arrive to a gym and you are already warm would that help or cause a problem to actual working sets with fatigue, and pressure of reduced warm up sets?
