Hey Joe! I have a few questions about daily water intake. Firstly should water intake differ winter to summer? In the summer its hotter and most of us are sweating more as compared to the winter. So i don’t know if they’re would be a significant difference in the amount of water one should consume in the winter vs summer. Second does water intake differ person to person? I am a 5,6 170lb male and currently drink about 2-3 liters of water a day right now plus a Gatorade with my intra-workout. I’ve found out that drinking a gallon a day at least right now is too much water for me. I’l pee every 5 minutes. I now drink about 2-3 liters of water and am still having to pee every 30 minutes or so but i dont nearly have to pee as much/have the urge to pee if i stay closer on the 2 liter side pee still clear. I will also wake up 1-3 times a night to pee because of my water intake. Note i’ve been increasing my water intake from drinking close to none to nearly a gallon a day over the past few months. My body may just not be used to the change yet. Is this normal? Should I reassess the amount of water im drinking? Do you have any tips for me? ie. only drink when you’re thirsty. This is a big issue for me Thank you!

First off, don’t over think it! There are actually no hard set guidelines for water intake. Based on what you said, I would shoot for 3-4 liters per day. Yes, you may just be peeing a lot for a while. To help get most of your water in for the day, drink 1 liter right when you get up, and always drink 1 liter intra-workout. And do your best to just keep water on you (a bottle, etc) all day to get the rest.
