    Hey Coaches,

    I have been dieting since April 10th, 2021 in the hopes of dropping body fat to sub 10% levels. Starting weight was 193lbs, as of right now 5.5 months later it is down to 171lbs. Sleep is good, energy levels are good. Strength has not waned at all (in fact some exercises have gone up), muscle does not seem to be gone which is why I tried to go slower with weight loss. Losing the weight has never been an issue. Body recomp has not happened at all. However, it still seems stubborn fat in certain areas (lower back and oblique area) has not gone away at all. Losing 22lbs and looking relatively the same 5.5 months later worries me that I’ll have to be in a calorie deficit for another 5 months and be around 150lbs at 5’8, which I don’t think is optimal because at that point I think muscle loss is imminent. Is the weight that I’m losing lean tissue as opposed to fat? Adjusting macronutrients hasn’t helped either, lower fats or higher fats or lower carbs or higher carbs with even at times slightly lower protein for the other macronutrient increases (protein = 1.2x BW in lbs right now). Any advice besides a continued calorie deficit in the hopes in time the fat will just be pulled?
