First, thank you for this app. It has truly become a one-stop-shop for everything I need with the recent addition of the nutrition section and the ability to track my macros.
A bit of background: I have been following your Pec augmentation program + extra back day, for the past 4-5 months. Prior to that, I was doing a very similar split but with (some) different lifts. I have also been tracking my macros for the last 2-ish years. Here’s my issue: when I gain weight, I feel that I just get fat. No noticeable lean muscle gain. When I lose weight, I just get less fat. No real muscle definition to speak of.
When trying to put on weight I do so incrementally by adding 10-15 carbs to my baseline/maintenance numbers every 2 weeks. So I’m only increasing my kcals by ~100 kcals per month. I leave my fat and protein numbers where they are.
Right now I’m in a slight deficit at 275C/200P/65F – I know I can still lose weight with slightly more fat because I’ve done so in the last. I’m 6’2” and right now I’m around 198lbs depending on the day. At my height, I could weigh 225lbs and be extremely lean.
My big question is, where should I look first to figure out what’s not working? Tracking everything I eat is a lot of work to not see the results I’m trying to achieve. So is getting up at 5am to go to the gym every morning. Look forward to your feedback and thank you again for all you do.
