Today doing low Incline DB presses I hit a new PR. In the past month or so I started to press 50s with ease, went to 55s, then 60s being able to do three sets of 12 with failure happening in the 10-12 rep range on the the third set.

This morning coming off a good day of rest I warmed up with some 40s, 55sand then popped the 60s low Incline for three sets of 12 with no failure. I then tried my luck with the 65s.

Two consecutive sets of really clean 6 reps with failure on the 7th rep on both sets. Felt great. Felt damn awesome๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ’ช. So the question I have is with me being able to push 65s and your thoughts of less is more.

Would pushing only 6 reps for multiple sets when the workout calls for 11-12 reps be just as beneficial? Or should I wait till I can hit those 11-12 reps and just keep pushing 60s and doing 65s as added sets to finish off that workout. These last 4 weeks I’ve felt more progress dropping my ego at the door and sticking to your program. Not that I haven’t added sets or pushed harder than what it calls for but I’m kicking myself for not joining your program earlier.

Makes per perfect sense and I will apply those methods to my next push day and see what is working for me. Appreciate the response ๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿ‘Š
