Hey Joe / Bryce. My wife is picking up gymnastics for the first time ever next week and I’ve never worked with a gymnast before. For some context, I would consider my wife intermediate to advanced, I do her programming and all of my principles that I know and use on her, myself and clients are concepts I learned from you. She trains 5 x per week right now, goals right now are fat loss and to help her gymnastics (perform well, not get injured, improve ‘mobility’). She’ll be doing gymnastics 2 x per week for 1 hour. I’m wondering on how I should manipulate her programming inside the gym. I understand the concept of ‘specificity’ and know how she’ll get better at gymnastics is too do more gymnastics. But do you have any thoughts on specific exercises? Maybe include more ‘explosive’ stuff? Dynamic effort, plyos? Thanks guys!
