Hey guys,
currently trying to put on some mass, aiming for half a pound of weight gain per week at 6”0, weighing 167 lbs. I’m rather conservative, eating ~ 2650 kcal while working out four times a week and walking ~ 8k steps daily. I’m doing this to cover for any unnecessary fat gains, as I’m rather on the skinny fat side of the spectrum.
However, I just read a take on this from an experienced bodybuilder who opts for another approach: He suggests to up the calories as much as possible, as this supplies the body with the means to build as much muscle as possible. He thinks that many people fail to make progress because they don’t eat enough to max out results and thus lose their small gains during the next cut.
What’s your take on this. Is this just “eat big to get big talk”?
Best, Jan
